Nyhaven

Tivoli Garden

Tivoli Garden is a famous theme park in downtown Copenhagen and one of the oldest in the world. Even Walt Disney got inspired by the magical atmosphere for their own Disney World. The secret of Tivolis Garden is that it has something for everyone. The charming atmosphere of the historic buildings, exotic architecture, and magnificent gardens make it unique. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, try the breathtaking rides, such as the wooden roller coaster from 1914. But also for foodies, the Tivoli has countless options to offer. From Danish specialties to French bistros to seafood and on top of that one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the city, Gemyse.
- Refshaleøen
Reffen is an urban playground for co-creation, innovation, food, and creativity, and Scandinavia’s largest street food venue.
On the former shipyard site of the Refshaleøen peninsula, you will find a mix of about 70 food stalls, bars, and creative workshops since May 2018. Scents from Africa and South America mingle with the smell of grilled meat and fish.
There are tacos, crepes, and ceviche, but also pizza, pasta, burgers, and ice cream. Under the motto “Reduce & Reuse”, everything is as organic and local as possible, with environmentally friendly products and recyclable materials.
This also applies to the creative producers, designers, and graphic artists who produce, exhibit, and sell sustainable products at Reffen. And since that is not enough, the 5,000-square-meter Minefeltet area hosts events such as concerts, flea markets, yoga sessions, and dinner evenings.

Copenhagen is a contemporary and modern city. You get this impression at every corner when you walk through the streets of the Danish capital. Copenhill is another example of the city’s modern orientation. It is a futuristic, unusual ski and leisure hill on the roof of a new waste incineration plant.
At 85 meters high, CopenHill is also home to the world’s highest climbing wall, where skilled climbers can demonstrate their skills.
All in all, the futuristic design and, of course, the ski slope on the roof represent a completely new approach to urban resource management and waste-to-energy construction that has been well received by residents.
It is another step towards Copenhagen’s goal of becoming the world’s first CO2-neutral capital city.
Strøget

Denmark is the home of design and aesthetics. Therefore, you should not miss a shopping trip through the fashion and interior boutiques in Copenhagen. Strøget is one of the oldest pedestrian streets in the world, where stores of Danish and international brands line up. Do not skip the small side streets of Strøget. Especially on Straedet street, you will find diminutive, individual boutiques and vintage stores.
Torvehallerne

Copenhageners aren’t the only ones who love their city’s biggest food market. For visitors, the Torvehallerne at Nørreport station is a must.
At more than 60 stalls, you can buy not only freshly caught fish, vegetables, and meat, but also everything your gourmet heart desires: from exotic spices to coffee and macarons to Danish delicacies from the island of Bornholm.
The Torvehallerne is also a gastronomic hotspot. Taste delicious smørrebrød, tacos, or pizza from one of the delicious food stalls and watch the hustle and bustle in the hall.
Rundetårn

The Rundetarn is a historic observatory in the middle of Copenhagen’s old town. The step-free ascent to a height of 32 meters is accompanied by a marvelous view over the rooftops of the city.
Amalienborg

Amalienborg was built in the 17th century and is today considered one of the most impressive rococo buildings in Denmark. The castle complex consists of four identical buildings. One of them is the Palais Christian IX (Palais Schack), the residence of Her Majesty the Queen. You can see if she is at home by the hoisted flag. Amalienborg is known for its bodyguard whose change of guards you can witness. At 11:30 a.m., the Royal lifeguards will leave the barracks at Rosenborg Palace to march through the city to Amalienborg Palace, where the relay takes place at noon.
Little Mermaid Statue

At Langelinje Quay, the entrance to Copenhagen harbor, you can find one of Denmark’s biggest tourist attractions but at the same time the smallest one: The Little Mermaid. If you visit the Little Mermaid, you can take time for a walk along the water and then pass the residence of the Danish royal family, Amalienborg Castle, on the way to the city center.
Meatpacking District

Originally the home to Copenhagen’s meat industry, “Kødbyen” has transformed into a new and creative hotspot with galleries, nightlife, bars, and restaurants. Amager Beach Park

Since we love the sea, Copenhagen’s city beach can’t be missing from our list. In the south of Copenhagen lies Amager Beach Park, an almost 5 km long artificially created beach, only about 5 km from Copenhagen’s city center. The beach is a true oasis of relaxation for city residents and a perfect mix of nature, sports, and culture. While the beach is rather quiet in winter, it awakens from its hibernation in spring and attracts both athletes and sun seekers. The beach offers a perfect spot for wind and kite surfing for beginners and professionals alike. Near the beach is a surf school, which offers courses for every level. In addition to the sports activities, it is a spot for social and cultural events, especially in summer.
